Our Team

Sherri L. Core

Core Association Services, Inc., was formed in 2000 by Sherri Core. The Fairfax, VA based association management firm specializes in management services for nonprofit associations nationwide.

Prior to 2000, Core was the principal partner of the association management division of Mayerhofer & Associates, Inc.

For the past fifteen years, Core has managed the Washington, DC chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. With over 1300 members, the National Capital Chapter is the largest PRSA chapter in the country.

As the director of administration for the International Association of Business Communicators, Washington, DC Chapter with a 600+ membership.

Past research projects and books which Core has participated in and contributed to include TV and National Defense, an analysis of CBS' coverage of the Vietnam War, and High Frontier, which advocated a space-based strategic defense initiative.

Core's background is in accounting and business,

Associations: PRSA, The National Association of Women Business Owners, Washington Women in PR, Washington Network Group, and IABC.  Core Association Services is a member of the AMC Institute and ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership.

She does volunteer work for Arena Stage in Washington, DC and enjoys gardening and woodworking and home improvement projects. 

Jennifer McLellan

Jennifer McLellan joined the staff of Core Association Services in May 2001.  She has worked in the association management field more than 12 years. 

Prior to joining CAS she worked for the McLean, VA based association management company, Associations International, Inc.  There she was responsible for all computer operations and bulk mailings, along with working with the desktop publishing staff.  She has worked with several alumni groups, clubs and membership associations, such as the Wharton School Club of Washington, the University of Pennsylvania, the American Friends of the London School of Economics, The Potomac Pedalers Touring Club, The American Ferret Association, the World Future Society, and the National Capitol Chapter of the Data Management Association.

Jennifer serves as the Assistant Director of Administration for the International Association of Business Communicators' Washington, DC Chapter.  She helps with other Core Association Services clients, including the Washington, DC area chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and the Potomac Pedalers Touring Club.

Jennifer's background is in computer programming and graphic design.  She has a certificate in Information Systems and has taken courses toward a degree in Computer Science.  She has attended many training classes for computer related programs and equipment.  She attends regular seminars and trade shows related to the IT field, association management, and meeting planning.  She is also an Independent Kitchen Consultant for the Pampered Chef.

Rachel Messenger, CPA

Rachel Messenger joined the staff of Core Association Services in 2005.  She has a BBA in Accounting from The George Washington University.  She is proficient in QuickBooks and other accounting systems.  In her spare time, she participates on non-profit boards of directors and acts as treasurer for her church.

Sheila Wilson, Webmaster

Sheila is a graduate of the York Town Business Institute Information Systems program. Since 1995, Sheila has produced and maintained websites utilizing technology ranging from Java to Microsoft's .NET initiative. She has worked in a variety of fields, creating websites for research projects, real state companies and community organizations. She has worked for both Internet start-ups and more established corporations, and enjoys communicating the wonders of the World Wide Web.
